Default I don't know how to answer this post

I was asked about the Google Adsense ads in a post by a member. Why were they there. I posted this question in Google's forum, and got an answer I didn't understand.

I don't know how to answer this, without violating Google's policy. Can anyone help me out here? Or should I not answer it at all.

    Thank in advance.

It is unclear, but the way I see it is:

    [Non webmaster]: Hello.
    [Webmaster]: Hello.
[Non webmaster]: What are those 'ads by google' things on the site?
[Webmaster]: *wonders will he be breaking the TOS if he says anything about clicking on them to get money*

The dilemma is: saying "don't click on the ads" to a non-webmaster makes the ads seem a little suspicious. Saying "do click on the ads" would definitely break the TOS.

My suggestion: send them a simple link to http://www.google.com/adsense/
They can read all they want there.

i dont think there is anything wrong about saying the truth what the ads is all about. as long as you are not encouraging to click.

Maybe Inside was asking for an advice if he/she will answer the question.

Sorry that I didn't make myself clear enough. :embarassed_yel:

The poster asked, "Why do we see all these ads on our forum?" And I didn't know how to answer this without the chance of violating Google's TOS. I am afraid that even the words 'click and ad' might be flagged by a Googlebot. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

I've only made about $25.00 so far, but the site's only been up for less than a month. I'm hoping it will grow.

I'd just tell them it helps pay for the forum itself, the hosting costs, etc.

Also explain to them however not to click anything unless they are genuinely interested in the ad.

Thank you for the advise. I used it, and replied to that post on my site yesterday.
