I have been reading about how people can put their adsense on your site without you knowing it.
How can you find out if someone has done this to your site? I have looked around the net but couldnt find anything that will check your site.

Where did you hear that?

Stop reading the junk! only be done if ur site can be hacked. To avoid that use secure scripts

Yep as the others have said. Only would be possible if you site was hacked. There are lots of wild claims like this about. Most of them untrue.

I have read it a few times on different forums as well as a blog. I was just wondering if that was possible to do lol

As others have said, it wont happen unless you've been hacked...
Or offer a revenue sharing modification![]()
SEOVB had a hissy fit like a little bitch for not being able to follow the rules!

Thanks everyone![]()
If you want your Adsense look like a part of your site, make your Adsense background color same with your site color.
When people get banned this is usually the first thing they claim. #were'nt me!!'
You can hide ads behind pics, so yeah I am assuming it can be done.
My favorite example of blackhats doing this is by putting a pic that looks like a video. When you clcik on the video to play it then it clciks the ad. Not sure if it works with adsense, but it does work. Just too risky for me to try.

I dont want to try it lol I was just wondering if it could be done.
Hmm.. not sure about this one. I've only heard about making your adsense ads look like your site. but never heard about hiding the adsense ads.
What's the point in hiding the adsense ads anyway?

All you have to do is right click on your page and "view source". Look at teh number that shows up on the Google ads and see if it matches your ID.
This very rarely happens.![]()

Im trying to learn about how my site works and found a blog about people being able to do this, but didnt really understand what the bloke was talking about :3085: and the more that I know about things like this, I can be aware of it and be able to do something about it, if it ever happens.
There seems to be so many things that hackers etc can do to a persons site without the owner knowing about it eg one site we had a bloke put up cookies, one of the other admins found out. But I wouldnt have a clue how to check for something like this etc

Sweetie, there are what ifs your whole life on and off line. I would not fret too much. Fear will keep you from being great. You have wonderful things ahead of you at such a young age! Cookies are tricky but of you clear your cookies from your browser and visit only your site, you can check to see if one was placed that does not belong there.
I do not worry that much, if I spent all the time worrying, I would never get anything done. Just do the best you can do and if someone hacks you, you have tons of friends who will be there to walk you through it. :3071:

Yes thats true![]()

Yeah, it's quite annoying when people only read a thread's title and then jump the gun.
Rhiannon, when I've read people discussing this in the past, it was about someone a person had hired to work on their site, then going in behind their back and switching their ads to their own... maybe that's all it was about. If you hire anyone you don't know too well to work on your sites, it's best to change all FTP/control panel passwords when they are done.
It is also a good idea to use very strong passwords that include both upper and lower case letters, numbers and even symbols such as # or & - these passwords are harder to break.
It is possible that a hacker could gain access to an account such as your hosting and then make changes and leave - you wouldnt see any damage to your site and so may not suspect anything.
