Thread: Our Adsense earnings are down, down, down...and you?

We have experienced a consistent increase in both visits and earnings until November 13 2008. Since then we have noticed an OVERNIGHT drop in stats:

CTR dropped a full point.
Clicks cut in half.
eCPM down a dollar.

These stats come with a continued increase in traffic, now over 125,000 daily (combined) impressions. Our earnings are down by over $1000.00 (USD) monthly with NO changes in content/keywords/ads etc... This was an overnight drop which has not recovered in a month,

Also, our Adbrite earnings have NOT decreased or faltered at all. In fact, our Adbrite earnings are stronger now than ever. Wouldnt a bad economy effect the advertisers on Adbrite as well?!?

Anyone else see similar results?

Nope just the usual wait ages for a bus then three come along all at once.

This time of the year my adsense earnings always jump up I expect them to drop in January again

Mine have jumped up, actually they have almost doubled since last month. Probably because of the traffic increase i'm getting atm.

In my case the earnings are shooting up day by day for my niche blog . At the same time i can see a steep fall in the income from my webmaster forum.

I haven't seen any significant differences. However given that I have just received my 4th warning letter concerning the use of MFA site, I do not expect to be an Adsense publisher for much longer.

I could swear I just replied to a near-similar post over at Sitepoint.

In fact, maybe it *was* the same post. Do you have an account there too?

Our earnings are down on last year, but still a reasonably healthy total.

Yes, we frequent 3-4 forums. When we have a question to ask we usually will ask the members at each forum.

Up, up, up for me, thanks to my lovely wife. I have put my code on her 55-60 sites...

I haven't seen any significant changes on my adsense earnings on my blogs. They still the same with the previous month.

My sites are all over the place. I have one site that is in a high paying niche with no competitors trying to rank and it is steady income but other than that one I have no consistency.

Well I am earning $1.00 in 2 days approx. But I am happy with it

I am not paying much attention to adsense.

Yea...something is better than nothing. If you replaced the Google ads with something more successful then what did you replace them with?

I think that this is because of financial crisis and people expecting worse times are coming. So, they don't want to spend money and don't want to click on ads...
Also I think that income drops because advertising budgets of companies have been cut. So, competition falls and they pay less per click...IMHO

My adsense earnings have tanked since last March but lately I've started to get some clicks. Some of my sites are not even making $1 with 1000 unique so I'm trying adbrite.

We use adbrite as our secondary ad network. The ads are not as relative as the Google ads are...Have you had any success with Adbrite? Have you tried Chitika?

I have found that for Impressions Adbrite seem to pay better that Google, but CPC is definitely not as good as Google.

Lately it is not funny to get 8-10 clicks and see a total of 7c

I have a few celebrity sites and the adsense is horrible. Adbrite has done well on one over the last few days. I thinking about switching them all to adbrite.

Chitika may work on some other sites. What is the minimum payout?

The last few days it has been slow. I guess it depends on the niche. Business sites are most likely down and funs sites are probably doing better with people at home.

I Don't think we can depend largely with adsense. It's still a matter of rich-content article / blog or sites. Advertisers will just come in if quality is present in you.

I have yet to receive a snail mail from Google containing my adsense PIN.. grrrrrrrrrrrr!

All I have are Public Service ads..

Quality sites should be good on the revenue site. Wonder what will happen with the guys that are spinning?

That's life. When you're up, there's a possibility of a downside too. The most important thing is, we learn from both sides. We cannot assume to be always receiving high earnings all the time, although there are those who are very lucky to maintain their high pedestal.

mine is a bit further,but it's alright though...

Yesterday I had 11 clicks worth $0.28. Today I have 4 clicks worth $1.59, which is good, but overall the earnings have been low this month.

11 clicks for 28 cents is low. Try adbrite or cj.

I sent a lot of traffic to CJ and generated no sales. They then canceled my account because of it. Next thing I know, I got a letter from a lawyer saying I was in a class action lawsuit against them because they were defrauding publishers. I think I might give AdBrite a try though since I have heard some good things.

it all depends the niche your in so its always different for other people. Mine drops in the summer.

Well as far as i kno it depends at account sometimes coz i had my old unused acc and i used my good traffic website on it and got 33 clicks and 0$ i did not understand the concept abt it

I have found that replacing some of my content ads to link units has greatly improved my revenue. Not sure if this will last, but at the moment it's doing the trick.
