Thread: Accidentally Clicked my Adsense Ad

In the past week, while I was browsing my blog to check for broken links and images, I accidentally clicked my own Adsense Ad.
Just one click and I pressed stop to prevent my browser from going to that page where the ad leads to.
What do you think will happen to my account?

Nothing will happen as long as this is just a one-off. But if there are subsequent clicks from you then your account is likely to be terminated. Just one click won't make any difference.

I think its ok to click it only once since it is accidental I happen to experience the same thing but you dont need to do it often coz you will surely get banned if its unscrupulously

You better do so and do not continuosly click those ads by yourself or else you get banned.

E-mail Adsense staff and tell them about what happened. You HAVE to tell them, otherwise it'll be against TOS.

It's not a huge deal as long as you're not regularly clicking on your ads. I accidentally clicked once or twice while testing designs and never got in hot water for it.

I don't believe so. Google audits your account just before payout. If they see a click coming from the same IP as the one you login to Adsense with they probably discount a certain number of them before they would ban you.

Google is smart enough not to charge you if you have the same ip.

I've heard that they may ignore all clicks for a day. Just make sure that you don't do it again and you should be fine.

Nothing will happen. If it becomes a habit though, Google will take notice and suspend your account.

In all seriousness, you should let Google know what happened to be safe. Think of it logically: mistakes happen, we are all human and Google wants to make money off your site just as much as you do.

I personally wouldn't let Google know, they are a huge company and knowing them they will just ban you to help themselves!

They wont notice one small click so I wouldn't worry about it at all, its just when people start clicking their own ads 20 times a day they get a bit suspicious

There's nothing to worry about - just about everyone has clicked on their ads at one time, so relax. If it becomes a repeated clicks then it's a fraud, in which case your account will be closed.

Your fine. Dont worry about it. Just dont do it again. Use firefox and remove the ads, so you dont hit them next time

You will probably worry about it way to much and cause a stomach ulcer. You gotta be carefull. The right thing to do would be to now go and clickon your competitors ads!
