Default A legal trick to increase CPM?

I read this thread with interest on another forum

The Warrior Forum - Just found out a trick to increase CPM for AdSense

In summary, if you remove your adsense published ID for a few days and then re-instate them, you may get a large improvement in CPM. This may be useful for sites that have been smartpriced.

However, it is uncertain whether this practice contravenes Adsense' terms on not.

Am sure at some point, google will really burn into this way of side-stepping their rules on adsense.

Like, right now, they are looking at sites more carefully that use a few tricks or tricky ad placement to get people to click on the ads.
Think google calls this inadvertent clicks, as the ads are shown on webpages in such a way, that people click on them thinking they are part of the site and not an ad.

wow, there are some dumbasses in that warrior forum. Manipulating the adsense code (for example, taking out your publisher ID) is against the TOS.

Yeah. That is a dumbass move. You can not alter the code in any way.

The idiot in that thread keeps bragging about how they haven't been banned by Google yet.

I had a small trick some days back, which is completely legal.

I removed adsense completely from one of my sites for 3 days, then again had adsense on this site & now I have an increase in the CPC. I dont know if anyone has observed this.

are you another dumbass from the warrior forum? It is against TOS to alter any part of the adsense code.

Feel free to do it yourself, but don't start telling people here they can do it.

Dude, When you are on forums circuit try acting nice to people even if you disagree to what they say..
This is a friendly forum so no need to wear your DP attitude here. consider it as warning, next time I might hand you over some infraction.

As far as changing/taking out pub-id is concerned, I am confident about it because I have confirmed it with google. How do you think all those revenue sharing forum programs or Ad logger programs work?

I removed adsense codes from the site I mentioned for 5 days, but it has not made any difference. I think I will look around for adsense alternatives which may be more suitable for a highly active forum with low CTR and low paying keywords.

I removed the adsense codes for 5 days earlier in June, and then put them back on again. I can say that it doesn't work. My site is still only making around $30-40 a month despite having over 2000 visitors a day. I will look into alternatives such as adbrite and valueclick.

Google typically takes a dim view of any such "tricks", legal or not.. I'm sure they'll quickly catch on to this and I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of any penalties.

Warrior Forum is great but alot of Black Hatters there as well as White.
