Exclamation How to stop unrelated ads from appearing...

Say you have a website and it's initials are "C.A.R.S." but this website has NOTHING to do with cars.

The Adsense ads coming up in spots are all about cars...

Is there anything I can do so these ads stop displaying car ads and get back on topic?

The "Car" ads are very inconvenient for my website and I want them gone, this is real annoying that it's taking references to the website title's initials as an actual subject of the site....

First, if its a new site it may take awhile to generate ads to the correct keywords in the text. Second you can always go in your competitive ad filter, in your adsense account>setup>competitive filter and start banning the sites that do appear on your page. That will only ban those sites and your limited to 200 sites in the filter (which sucks) but hopefully it will become more relevant ads with time

Hey Colleen ... something on your site is actually triggering adsense to display those type of ads so I would carefully look through your content and page title and see if anything stands out.

What Kimmy is suggested will work to a certain degree until some other idiot shows up with Car ads or Candy Floss ads. You'll just have to keep on top of it a bit.

Alternatively, you may want to think about using something called "section targetting" - you can read about it here

    Hope this helps!

Thanks. I thought I made myself clear. I know that. My members are using the initials of the site and the initials form a word, causing the ads to assume my site is about said word and it's not.

I used targeting on these ads.
