Thread: Does impressions affect your earning?

hello all,

i know its quite stupid question but i feel to ask this.

I feel some change in my earnings after an increase in my visitors.

Before i had less visitors, i used to earn twice than i earn now?

So, does impressions affect earnings?

Impressions should increase your earnings as long as your click thru rate % stays the same

and you do get a little bit from impressions alone. Even without clicks. It's not anything significant, but it's something.

I earn more when my impressions come from DP.

It depends on your site and your traffic.

For example with PPC ads, if your running a WP blog and not using the more... tag and readers can read the entire post on your home page then you have a baseline of traffic and page views. If you switch to using the more tag to only show a portion of the post then the users now have to click to another page to read the rest, so you pageviews (impressions) should increase significantly.

But its all the same visitors so your CTR might actually go down a bit. But you should still see an increase in overall number of clicks.

Why? All those same people are now effectively seeing more ads so it increases the likelihood they might click one. But being the same visitors they may continue to ignore the same ad they ignored the first time.

If your running CPM ads that pay by impressions then more impressions simply means more money proportionate to the increase in page views.
