A few years ago when i got to the age of seventeen i was extremely excited and did not want to wait to beging taking driving lessons at that moment i did not really take into consideration the really high cost of car insurance for 17 year olds. When i went for my test i passed the first time, as you can amadgen i was ecstatic that was right up until i got my first car insurance quotation. after spending a few thousand on lessons i got a quotation of around £2,500 per year for a standard 1.4 car. After finding the shocking expense of young driver insurance i decided to search around to find insurance for as cheap as i could find it & decided to write some advice to help out younger drivers. What effected the cost of car insurance for 17 year olds: 1. My Location - i discovered that when i moved apartments the car insurance dropped by a few hundred, Insurers price off statistics and things like theft negatively effect the price. 2. Car insurance groups - The lower the group the lower the price, for a new driver i would recommend getting a car from the group 1 insurance cars list. 3. Overnight parking - If you park on a main road overnight you will pay a lot more. 4. The cover type - There are 3 different styles of cover which include fully comprehensive, 3rd party fire & theft and 3rd party. When getting a quote it is worth looking at all of them to ensure you get the cheapest quote. 5. Annual car milage - The lower your milage the cheaper your quotation. So all in all you should shop around to get the cheapest quotation for yourself. On another note do not lie to insurers as this can void your insurance & make you uninsured.
