Thread: How much does it cost to run an effective adwords campaign to get 10,000 signups

I have about a couple hundred dollars and i was wondering how much it costs to run an effective campaign to advertise my new soon to be built persistant browser based rpg game similar to kingsofchaos

Im sorry to say it but this is an almost impossible question to answer, it is "how long is a piece of string?" - really depends on your site, the competition and how well you are optimised already before even looking at the keywords you will target and their costs. if you go through the campaighn management in googles adwords there is a cost estimator and that might give you a better idea based on your site and the words you wish to target.

is 50 bucks enough for a quality game?

Could not agree more...
The cost estimator is not very precise but judging from my experience one can spend a lot of money trying to promote a game without actually getting any results...

depends on the keywords you are using. I have run a few campaigns using keywords for hosting services and they can shoot up to $30.00 bid per click very fast.

Well...hosting is a very competitive niche...so is the games business...
