Thread: Words Banned By Adwords?

I was reading an article the other night about certain words, or combinations of words that if found on your site could lead to being banned by adwords.

I am shocked though, because some of these words show up readily in my site.

Thankfully I have yet to sign up for adwords so technically I am in the clear until I actually decide to sign up for adwords.

They say that words like sex, also certain other medical terms are banned. Well hello google, my site is about Health Science, Medicine and Biology.

So obviously sex and medical health terms are all over my site.

I am wondering if any other webmasters who are using adwords now, have come across this same problem and what do you recommend.

I obviously need to come up with a solution before I apply for adwords. If there's a way that I could request that Google review my site, prior to applying for adwords and have them tell me exactly what I need to do.

I know that this is ludacrous, but it needs to be done, getting google to do anything for webmasters is like pulling teeth.

Hi,

Article titles carry more weight then the article itself. So watch the titles you make for the articles you add.

Another help is section targeting.

Thanks, was unaware that the titles carry more weight than the actual article. It is hard though to decifer because Google does not give a clear cut list of what is acceptable and what is not.

It's like they do it on purpose just so that they can have they right to deny you at any time without giving you any notice.

Google keeps us webmasters in the dark about many things, yet because of us they are making billions.

if you search google you can find lists of words that are banned however these lists are not facts, google keeps this information very secret.

Anything that has to do with illegal substances, drugs, and inappropriate behavior are most likely banned.
There is no official list but you could probably employ common sense to figure it out.

You are right commonsense is your friend and advocate, but if my site is about biology and I want to have a page about (Fibromyalgia) then I am risking being banned because of this kind of content potentially being banned.

The article I was reading stated that certain medical terms, words, and procedures are not wanted by Google Adwords.

Any comments, please advise?

We find many sites in relation to sex and health care. There is no way google can ban such keywords.

Google also does not like get rich at home money making schemes. I once managed a account for a MLM marketing client. They raised the bids to $50. They the account was banned. So check the ethical aspects of the keywords you are advertising for.
