I'm wondering if its really worth it.
I'm wondering if its really worth it.
I do run adwords campaigns, it can be well worth it once you fine tune your ads. It also depends on the market, some products or services you can get some pretty cheap traffic. Other more competitive markets such as real estate perhaps, travel, health care, etc will cost you a bundle per click.
Naah..I keep away from such campaigns and means. I prefer to advertise my site privately, since thats more meaningful for my site and I don't have to pay for adwords or similar hyped up stuff. A flat and decent advertising charge, nothing more and i don't bother abt clicks. I usually advertise at places which don't impose restrictions on clicks or tell me how much i can receive.
its very competitive on certain keywords. i prefer adsense instead![]()
I use Adwords to test a market.

I tried it for the first time 2 weeks ago with my free coupon from bluehost, not very interesting if you ask me. But then again, I know nothing when it comes to this. I used keywords "little blue smurfs" and nothing's happening!! No signups from it at WTF! I thought webbies love little blue smurfs!!!![]()

There is a science to getting the traffic from AdWords Colleen![]()
It all starts with some good KEI research... and figuring out what cut of which pie you think you can take... I did a very short example for your forum here... that will show you what the 1st - 4th place bids are in your niche market... also it shows your KEI and the best part about it... is the fact that it shows places 1-4 of the bidding, here's why...
The Harvard and MIT heat mapping studies have shown (I have also tested this and found it to be true) that the 4th place ad on AdWords has the best CTR! so the benefit of knowing what the guy in 4th place is paying is this... you can bid 1 penny over the current 4th place bidder and then you are 4th place... (be careful with thisyou don't want it to become a bidding war!)
Now the REAL trick is to find 1,000's of keywords that people would use to find your site (which if you have AwStats on your server you already have a good list to start with) then find the ones w/ the lowest bid rate on them... in many cases you can drive hundreds of visitors a day using .03 key terms! This is great especially if you have AdSense running on your site and your being paid a higher CTR than you are paying... Make sense?
Oh yeah the report is here... give it a look see http://www.neo1seo.com/WTF/WTF-quickie-analysis.htm

Yup, definitely I agree with you... Your adwords campaign can be well worth it if you have fine tune your ads and if you are advertising in a good market, with good products and services provided. I also agree with grim, with the markets he mentioned, these are quite expensive.
I am using adwords and all I can say is that it is the excellent program till date and has the potential to deliver huge traffic to ur website..
