Thread: Firefox referral buttons : No conversions, no payouts

Hello all,

Just curious if anyone out there has also seen this and knows what the deal is. On my sites I have placed the Firefox referral buttons. Over the past couple of weeks I have seen (in my adsense reports) X amount of clicks and 2 signups, but no conversions. Since there have been no conversions there have been no payouts. Exactly what is required to generate revenue from the Firefox referral buttons? People have clicked, downloaded the product and (I guess) used it. What is the conversion necessary for payment?

Thats strange.
They have to click, download and install.
I guess they have done that and i'm not sure why you havn't got payment.

Thanks for your reply...yea, I was looking again at what Google says the criteria for a referral conversion is. I am not sure but it might have to do with the part that says the visitor who downloads firefox can not have had firefox previously installed...Maybe the 2 people who actually clicked through and downloaded it (via my referral button) but I am thinking they might have had old version installed...

...who knows.

Anyone who has had an install of firefox on their pc will not count as a conversion.
It must be a 100% fresh user.

I could never find firefox under the referal and just assumed it had been removed. I suppose i'll have another look now.

So what would the deal be if I happen to click my own referral button each time i re-install windows and download firefox again? would that register as a "Self Click"?

"UPDATE: Within days of this post, Adsense fixed whatever the issue was, and Firefox conversions and earnings are now back to normal"

Then a user on April 3rd wrote in and said their referral earnings are still down. So are mine.

How are others firefox referrals doing lately?

i dont konw whats happened on that firefox referrals,i have 15 conversions and just 1.5 us dolloars payment(0.10 each). i am pretty sure, those user are from europe or north amercia. should i talk to google or just wait for couple day?is that google cut our payment???

I have pretty much the same "pending payout"

I have 7 conversions and I have $0.70 "income". That would be about $0.10 per fresh install of Firefox.

I could even say that adsense "outperforms" Firefox referral in terms of "income".

Ten cents a referral...that's not worth the time to place the referral code! I have had roughly 200 clicks and ZERO conversions I'm moving on to more profitable ventures.
