I didn't realize until recently how much the hosting companies pay in commissions. $100 to $150 per signup sounds excellent. So, I'm wondering how many people are promoting hosting services and how much luck they are having with it.

I had the banners up here, made nothing. Considering this is a webmaster forum, you'd think sales would be good from those banners, but I guess cause webmasters usually already have hosting, it doesn't work out so well, perhaps promoting them elsewhere would have done the trick.

True, webmasters already on the net have hosting, most know where to go to get more hosting (usually the same host they presently have).
And most people learned ages ago how to bypass the affiliate links for hosting.
If the banner shows hostgator, go to hostgator and bypass the affilaite link.
I have had no luck in this so far, though hostgator and a few more show me with lots of click thrus.

I never used Hosting Affiliate, but I heard that HostGator is the best hosting affiliate that pays the most.
Because you can refer a client and you can give them a coupon code for 1 cent and they only pay 1 cent for the hosting and you get around $50 for that.
Now would be a good time to promote dedicated providers, with layertech and the planet having people leaving in droves![]()
I was wondering why none of the webmaster forums promoted web hosting. You would think there'd be a lot of new bloggers etc. looking for good hosting. Guess not.
What about going the other way and promoting one that pays commission on sales through refferals? That's actually why I started this thread. I found one that pays $150 dollars for hosting signup and 10% on your down line.
Not really. I learned a while back not to waist time promoting to webmasters. I was actually considering a blog in the web hosting niche, but I could end up waisting a lot of time and money.
I was also looking into ways to monetize my earners forum...in case it ever takes off.![]()
