Thread: What Niche Am I?

So, As some of you know I"m working this summer for a new company. I'll be advertising them a bit later on.

But, we have a 2 week break, since our head-designer is off on break, so the marketing expert is taking me under his wing, and putting me on a sever crash course on making money with affiliate marketing.

So, from now on, no more simplistic 'traffic' gaining websites, with no real revenue. Prepare for me to become the marketing expert!

I've been stuck on so many crash courses, I spent over 6 hours listening to webinars on affiliate marketing, and I have so much information crammed into my brain.

Now, I'm 18. I don't go out very often, I stay at home with my girlfriend. I'm extremely web savvy, and spend alot of time working. Recently, I've purchased a laptop, a wii, and a new cell phone.



Now, I'm here for suggestions, What kind of niche do you think would be good for me to go into?
I don't know anything about Mortgages, I don't know anything about Dating sites, etc.
I need a product, that I can sell.

Anyone have any suggestions?
I was originaly going to do cell phones, but I decided against it since they're a highly expensive item, and aren't an every day sale.


I'm open to suggestions from affiliate experts!

health products? They seem to be popular just now.
Electronics? A lot of scope as to what, doesn't have to be one product.

I'm not into health products, I take vitamins and that's enough for me. Thanks for the suggestion.

As for Electronics,
I was thinking about that.
But, in a monetary standpoint, I hear commission for consumer electronics is rather low.
But it's definitely a possibility.

well what are you into? Sports products? Gaming? Gambling (poker and such)?

I'm into Gaming, Electronics, Music, Webmastery, Art..

It's really a good question to ask before jumping into something.

Here are some quick pointers to help you choose a good niche:

1. You should ideally be looking to enter prosperous markets - that means (if possible) millions of cash rich prospects who wont quibble about spending money on products, services and information.

2. Check your niche's trend - try and pick a niche that's experiencing a boom. For example, while travel has always been a giant niche, it's booming online while offline travel is in decline (I read a report a while back that claimed that there has been a 50% migration of travel bookings from offline to online). Niches that are buzzing will typically offer better payouts to website owners...more money in a niche = more advertisers bidding more money to attract your traffic = bigger profits for you.

3. Make sure there is a decent income/affiliate infrastructure available. Some niches offer stunning pay per lead returns (there are PPL of $100pl available if you know the right niches) - others don't offer PPL at all (or offer insulting values like $1pl).

But a blog that talks about How teens can make money online might be a good nitch for you. Do reviews on all those crash courses you have taken.

I plan on tossing simple stuff like that into my personal blog, which I'm working on setting up.

My niche I chose was tshirts, you've already seen the site. ;P

How about resell right to a specific product or service.

Another good idea these days is online apparel stores and you don't even need to hold inventory you simply host a companies product on your website!

This is a hard question and even more so because we know nothing about you. In the end the most profitable suggestion might not be something you like after all!
