Thread: eBay or Amazon?

Which one of the two do you prefer for selling or purchasing stuff? I am much into ebaying, no experience with Amazon.

ebay is certainly and undoubtedly the very best. its so easy and so much response u get for a listing.

I've been a seller on ebay for many years, and a customer of PayPal for about 12 years!

During this time PayPal has shut down my account a couple of times, when I assume their computer system suspected fraud of one type or another.

Just a couple of months ago it happened again, they froze my funds and locked my PayPal and ebay account for more than 1 month. During which time I had to provide them all types of documents, including a list of all my suppliers, credit report, bank statements, proof of address etc.

The previous 12 years of history with the company ment nothing (Perfect feedback on ebay, and never a complaint on PayPal).

If Amazon is a viable alternative to ebay, take it. PayPal (and such ebay) are not a bank, not regulated and can seize your funds and lock your account at anytime.

There's yet another alternative for selling to eBay and Amazon: Bonanzle.com.

Bonanzle features seller's booths where you can actually interact in live chat with your buyers, plus there are no insertion fees and nominal final value fees. The downside is no other site yet gets the traffic eBay does but I stopped selling on eBay when they changed their feedback rules.

I have used ebay mainly for selling and nothing else comes close in terms of the traffic your listing or classified ad gets. Only used amazon for the odd purchase so i dont know how effective it is from a selling point of view.

I'm not so much into selling stuff over the net, so I was wondering... why not using both?
Is it too complicated to keep track on two sites?

I've never done anything with amazon, and only purchased a handful of things on ebay.

I would definitely go with eBay. I have no experience yet with Amazon.

I've never used Amazon. eBay sales are a bit slower than usual right now.

i will go for eBay

i have only used e bay and i found it great and therefore i recommend you to use ebay but amazon is also a famous site so you can also try it.

don't have experience with ebay, still explore with amazon

i like ebay better because I get paid faster
