Thread: Bing Optimization

Does anyone of you consider optimization on Bing?

I haven't done anything special to optimize for it. I just sort of get Bing traffic.

I have made this comment before all visitors to a site is important. But extra work for what? Only an 8% share they have. I think we might find better use of our time.

I wonder how hard it would be to get on bing.info?

What is bing. I have heard about it?? Does it work?

I don't think there's anything special that you need to do to optimize separately for Bing. If you have a well optimized page for Google, I think it should also work well with Bing.

That's my thought, I have not done anything for Bing but get lots of traffic from it.

I still consider optimizing at Bing, continuous link building everyday could help your site rank on top of search results.

I think Bing's optimization is also like Google, but there are some changes in their algorithm making them different from each other.

I don't worry about bing too much but I know it like a lot of on site optimization.

From what I gather so far, that's basically true. The one difference I know of is that Bing counts nofollow links like most SE's who are not Google.

Image optimization tips for Bing search engine ie) name image files appropriately, For improved relevance, make sure that the file name describes the image appropriately.

I guess optimization for all search engine were all of the same thing considering that all of them are of the same type so usually they tend to implement what others have ..

By the way does Bing have free hosted blogs like blogger of Google?

I don't even tried to optimize my websites in Bing.

I guess we need to stick in Google first, before going to bing optimization.

not sure what to do but it seems there's a lot more spam on bing than on google. I guess nofollow links seem to work for bing so get as many links as you can - you can spam if you want I guess.

Bing does not have a free hosted blog. However, there is the Microsoft Windows Live Spaces blog service. Here's a link. Hope this is helpful and answers your question.

Not yet i ll be optimizing Google or yahoo but at once also i didn't optimized. Whether bing is good in searching the results.

Bing's optimization is lengthy, as your site has gotten well serp in google and yahoo so it also will get well serp in bing.

Honestly, I'm just optimizing my website in Google. Why? Simply because most of us trusted Google. And we all know that Google is the no. 1 SE.

I have been tasked to look for optimization techniques specifically for Bing. We are already ranking in Google. However, the same pages do not rank in Bing.

Nope bing is so terribly slow that I don't bother, it took them almost a year to index 64 pages on a high traffic website of mine

One Thing That I looked into, which is a difference between bing and google, is the use of Title Tags, Google frowns upon long Title tags, bing actually likes longer more descriptive Title Tagsl

Also Bing Loves Content, The more content on a page the better.

Google loves to think that if your site has lots of content that you must be spam, lovely vision on how google looks at the webmasters who use their technology to promote them.

Bing is a lazy search engine. You can perform it quicker by making a webmaster account in bing. Then submit your site's sitemap.xml file to it.

Bing is new territory much of the market is via Google, if Microsoft takes over Yahoo they may stand a chance against the might G

Many people are too focused on the big G to forget that Google isn't the only search engine, people are getting good results with MSN and Yahoo

In my view Bing's optimization is also like Google, but there are some changes in their algorithm making them different from both other.

It is better to think only about google & yahoo ranking, Bing will have itself.

Now i m working on Online MBA Courses | Distance Learning MBA| Online Post Graduate Programs , it has very good ranking in Google search result. But in Bing its very poor ranking. Can any one here provides me some tips to optimize an education site in Bing.

I find that when you optimize for Google you rank well for Bing unlike Yahoo. I have a couple of sites that are ranking well in Google as well as Bing and yet I only optimize for Google

I totally agree with you. I have one page ranks high in google also ranks high in Bing.

I'm having better results from bing than from google.

I think having some advice on how to have a good rankings in Bing is kinda hard for everyone who performs SEO because everyone is targeting a good SERP ranking in Google and always set some other search engine aside.
