Thread: Recommend Me A Good WP Plugin for Newsletter

I am thinking about adding a newsletter subscription on one of my WP blogs and would like to know if anyone here has had any experiences with such a plugin that they would recommend.

No experience here with Wordpress newsletter plugin but I google it for you and found an article containing a list for those kind of plugins.. She's a member of WTF too.. Lorelei.

I also did a Google search, but am hoping to hear from some folks who have experience with this as there are many different plugins out there and I want to use the best one I can get.

I had toyed with the idea a while back. I was told to buy one called Shift This. I found the site but the Plugin is no longer available until further notice. The rest I have found only do part of what most people would want.

Yeah I saw that and it still says the same thing "Plugin is no longer available until further notice"

I have been using phpList for another site, perhaps I will end up going with that again.

Does a newsletter really help?

I think it depends upon the type of site. I have over 500 subscribers to my current newsletter and I rarely ever have any to unsubscribe. When I send one out I see a good spike in my traffic coming from emails too, so it serves to remind folks about the site and encourage them to return. I have never placed any ads or unrelated info in the newseltter as its purpose it is to build loyalty and repeat visitors and not to make money, however since there are G ads on the site it probably helps there indirectly.

Reason I was asking is because I started a blog about becoming debt free. I do not plan to make any money on the site because it is more a passion than a money making venture. I am wondering iof a newsletter down the road would create loyal readership. :sgrin:

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked it out and that particular plugin isnt for a newsletter. It is for sending notices of new posts that are made on a blog.
