Wordpress date change??

Hi,

I have a question??

My site is back online.

with a new host. But my only backup is old yes I know I should have made a more current backup.

What I want to know is this. I can go to yahoo/google and retrive my info from the cached pages that they have.

Is their a way to assign the page to the old location
Example
freewomensblogs.com/2008/09/29/russell-crowe-will-be-robin-hood-and-sheriff/

If I just clip/copy/paste them back wordpress will give a location like this /2009/02/09/ That will not match the link that google or yahoo has.

The site has a loss of about 90 pages of info.

Is their an easy way to do this.

Any thoughts or ideas on this??

Or just not worry about old content and go on without it, just add my new content.

You can edit the dates when you create the new posts and they should then match up fine

I had to look to find the date edit, but I found it

The date edit is a great tool. I have one blog where a new post is made every day. I have never missed more than 3 or 4 days and the blog is over 2 years old. I use the date edit to schedule posts so that they appear one per day. Every so often I work at putting up 10 to 20 posts and schedule them so a new one shows up every day without me doing anything more.

You'd be surprised what people search for. I still have people finding me by searching for stuff (usually news) that was posted months ago.

That is true and Sami I do think it would be a good idea to put your posts back up if you can do it.

It's good for search engines for sure.
And backup your database so it won't happen anymore

Older pages have higher search engine benefits so you do not want to ignore them

Sami, its always better to get your old content back on your blog, Google love content and it will help you to attract more visitors to your site, your ranking also depends on content... keyword rich content.
