    Cool Using a blog to link to main site for rankings

    I partially use a blog to help bring rankings to my main site by way of links which are peppered throughout various posts... BUT these days my blog looks much better than my static page and I'd prefer people to see the blog in all its multi-paged glory and get rid of the static site altogether. But I'm concerned that just linking within the blog will be seen as incestuous and won't be as effective as using the blog to link to an external webpage in a different directory. So my question is this: will I get the same impact if I use the blog to link back to the blog as I will when I use the blog to link to the main website (which has worked successfully). I realize each post in the blog is treated as a separate page, but I'm just not convinced that linking to your own pages looks as good as linking to another related site.

    Use your Blog-Post to link to different but releated sites! Try to be informative but your internal site should reveal more informations than your blog post!

    Another oppertunity might be to combine both!

    I mean if you use a CMS (Content Management System) to build your main page, you are able to update it without much work, or you can add a forum for your visitors for example!

    @divengrabber :
    Yes, you can link your blog post internally, make sure you link to most relevant post. There's no harm in interlinking blog post.

    Place the link related on the entries you published on your blog.

    I also think that external links(linking to a page in your site or blog from an external domain) are more powerful than internal links(linking to a page in your site or blog from another page in the site domain) as seen by search engines but both are good if counted.

    I personally love creating a blog and linking that blog to my main sites, trying to keep the blog on a different server, switching the outbound links up enough so they do not appear to be all going to the same site.

    It not only transfers some juice over to my main sites, the blog gets traffic which sends direct targeted traffic to my main sites

    If you run a site and are looking to get it listed quickly on search engines, there really is no easier and quicker way than to also put a blog on the site. It is a known fact that search engine spiders from sites like Google and Altavista list new blogs much faster than they list new sites. However, it’s not as simple as just creating a blog and letting it sit there. You have to also use tactics like pinging, linking and the use of keywords. We’ll go over each so that you are able to effectively use your blog for a quick site listing. We’ll also briefly go over how to host your own blog on your site.

    If doing this can benefit you, you should continue doing it as long as you can have great ranks and good number of visitors, Why not?

    Blogs are also the best ways to promote your website and also can give you back links by putting on the keywords of your main site.

    I think it will not be an issue as long as you are abiding by all the rules. Do not give too many links from your blogs because it may loose its importance. besides that you have to make sure that you have collated some inbound links for this blog apart from just giving links from it.
