Hey,
I currently use WordPress for my blogs, however, I am starting to see more 'light' within Joomla - what do you think to this? Which is better for a blog?

For a blog? I'd always say Wordpress.
Joomla is pretty good for other things though.
i also think that Wordpress is better then Joomla but Joomla is good to i guess the famous are wordpress and joomla
As far as I know, Joomla is obviously developing their unique templates and I gotta say the sites are just plain excellent. If Joomla can perform like this... that on its own is a significantly clear advantage!
I also use word press for my blogs. I think it is more advanced than Joomla. In 1007 word press also won a Packt Open Source CMS Award. It has a templating system, which includes widgets that can be rearranged without editing PHP or HTML code. It also features integrated link management, a search engine friendly, clean permalink structure.

Hi,
I have had both. I liked a lot of the what Joomla has to offer. So I am not knocking Joomla at all but for a blog I would say wp. But for the best theme layout and add on's Joomla by far.

Wordpress and Joomla are both excellent at what they do. I would say Wordpress is best for a blog, but Joomla is better for a website with dynamic content. Joomla is very powerful and there will be some time needed to learn how it works and you will need to migrate your content. I think moving to Joomla would be a lot of work for little gain.
If you were starting a new site from scratch, then I would say 50/50 between Joomla and Wordpress - or just go with whichever you have most experience of.

Content management and user management are great in Joomla. You can engage users, give incentives to members, etc. It goes way beyond mere blogging and you can create nearly any kind of major web project once you learn the bells and whistles.
For me WordPress is much better than Joomla because there are some useful plugins in WordPress that are not available in Joomla.
I think wordpress is better because it has huge variety of amazing plugins

I am not a huge fan of joomla mostly because I never really figured it out, too much stuff and too much confusion in my opinion.
Sure it enables you to build a much wider variety of websites, but if your need is blogging I'd say stick with wordpress: it's VERY flexible, you can edit it and customize it to fit your needs and you have a variety of plugins ready to use.
Wordpress is very easy to modify and adapt for any purpose, for what I have seen joomla is way more complicated
I am definitely a WP addict. All of my blogs are made from WP. I like WP because it is easy to get around with. You don't have to be an expert for you to be able to set-up a blog. Plus the freedom it gives to the user to fully customize their blog is amazing.
