Yes, there is aimed at people using RSS feeds, but not in the way that they're intended. There are already several re-publiations of my blog post as you will see from the comments that follow.

If more people could do this, we could expose the problem more.

I check my blog on copyscape once per month to make sure that no one is copying my content. Someone tried to copy one article twice so far but I took care of it right away. You need to constantly check on your blog. I also do some article marketing but I write so many articles that I have no way to checking them to see if anyone is stealing content. I just check my main web sites.

After someone copied your website, you can send a DMCA complaint to the hosting company, check more in this thread: Someone copied my website. I don't know what to do about it. - Net Builders

Good idea if you're on an informal blog but it'll be tacky if you do it on a corporate or serious blog.

It's really annoying how many thieves there are out there. Competitors stealing your stuff left right and center because they don't have the time to write their own articles. It's very hard to go after each and every single one, so you have to be smart and make sure you only go after them when it's warranted and when they don't stop after being contacted. There's ways you can prevent scraping, get a programmer to script you up a timeout if there are no useragent or referrerrs.

It is funny how people pass off other people's work as theirs. This has now moved from blogs to Twitter too. I recently googled one of my tweets and noticed that some clown tweeted the same thing instead of simply retweeting.

I don't think there's a way to stop this sort of things. Lets see how this new campaign goes though.

But google should find it on your site first thus should not matter but i like the idea of stopping these auto blog style websites.

yes off course! I dont know why bloggers allow them for commenting coz its very easy for a blog owner to identify spammer and a true reader of their post

I found a site that is stealing my content but doing it by RSS, I don't think they even done it manually

I don't see how it's 'sealing' #1 as you are using a product that allows for others to use the RSS feeds.

I understand why people get upset, however look at it. You are using a product that OFFERS a RSS feed. What are RSS feeds used for?.......

I'm sure there are plugins to stop those from grabbing YOUR FREE FEED YOU ARE PROVIDING if you wish, you also can block their server from accessing your server with htaccess

I won't worry about any sites scraping my content. I'll worry when one of those pages outranks my original, which hasn't happened yet for 2 reasons:

#1 - Google is aware of content scraping.
#2 - Google knows which site came first and has more backlinks.

You could use the wp copy protect plugin for wp, that won't help with someone grabbing your rss but isn't your rss protected when you change it to a summary?

I agree!!! I think people need to start writing their own content and stop stealing it from those of us who put in the hours.!!!
