I do hope you can share your ideas on how to do blog promotions since traffic is really important in our blog


I think you need to keep this in mind

1. Write Quality Content
2. Blog regularly that means you need to update your contents more
3. Dont forget to Ping your blog when you create new content
4. Make your blog search engine friendly
5. Promote your RSS feed
6. Participate in Discussion board
7. Social bookmarking and Networking
8. Comment on other blog
9. Encourage Comments, Trackbacks and Pingbacks

I agree with you, if and only if you have quality content to your site then only people will visit your blog on many occasions. Then you need do a lot of SEO Submission of your blog in various Blog directories, Article submissions, Blog commenting, Forum posting and many other such valuable submissions. I am sure that this thread will help a lot of people to know about various ways to promote a blog.

Easy to use!!!

Feature are right on the page but here you go.

Features:

1. Services are only pinged when a new post is created (not when an existing post is edited)
2. For future posts, services are only pinged when the post has appeared on your blog
3. Detailed reverse-style (newest entries first) logging
4. ‘Ping services now’ function
6. Auto-selects whether to do an extended or normal ping
7. For extended pings, it uses the new URL instead of just the homepage URL to ping (resulting in a much higher quality ping)

The “Ultimate Plugins Smart Update Pinger” is a different plug-in than “Smart Update Pinger”. As of Jan 2009, “Ultimate Plugins Smart Update Pinger” is still working great. I have this plugins about a month now , and it shows me how many pings and how many not . And is it consistent thumbs up MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer .

RSS feed is very effective factor for this blog traffic

You ca use facebook and twitter to promote your blog for free without spending a dime.

I do agree with you too actually I am using this method and until now I am getting traffic from Twitter and facebook ..A lot of my visitors where from US and Canada and its really good

Article submission is also a very good way to bring direct traffic and quality backlinks for either a blog or a site. I would use that strategy as my main blog promotion technique as well.

You miss something, submit your url to search engine like google, bing, yahoo dll

Very effective way of getting good amount of quality traffic is to build your IM list with diggers, stumblers and reddit guys and get your article voted if it appears on main pages you are going to get tons of traffic. Hard work but ease for life once you get 100-200 active members in your list.

I would like to add that you must also submit your blog on blog directories.

writing quality is just a thing in mind. You need to constantly build quality links and ask participate in your niche forums as well.

I usually do Social Bookmarking,Update my blog,Commenting in other blogs,Ping and RSS Feed.

Blog directory submission has also good effect in SEO point of view and secondly link exchange with relevant blogs is also very helpful.

you can do keyword research also or search what people like to read on the internet. post that article and promote them on high pr social bookmarking site.

That's a good list. I think it's definitely worth writing and submitting articles also. They seem to give the best SEO benefit per backlink - aside from a permalink on a really top blog, of course.

One way I generate articles is to just go through my blogs and find some posts that are about one common subject. I cut and paste these together and rewrite what results substantially so that it's unique content. Then there's a whole new article to post in a directory.

I agree with what you say and would like to add that you should have your blog all set up before you submit a link or rss to anyone. Have about 5 posts so your site looks organized and not empty.

to add my two cents... I agree with the good content+promotion part most.

Other than this, one of the easiest ways to start building an audience is to find an existing audience and get in front of them. Contact different blog owners in your niche and offer to provide them with quality content. It is a win win because the blog owner gets extra content but you get exposure to your writing.

Those that appreciate the post you added will be very likely to visit your blog for more of your content.

Create unique content ,make good backlinks ,share your articles in social networking and article directorys
