I've been thinking of adding a blog to one of my web sites but with all the millions of blog's out there I'm starting to think that it may not be worth it? Would it be worth it?

I am currently in the same boat, currently do not have a blog, but I do know the value that having a decent blog can bring to any site.
Any blog, when managed properly can even stand on it's own as it's own site.
Do not be concerned about your competition or about how many other blogs are already out there in your niche.
If you design your sites or blogs with honest values, key information, and valuable content, people will find it.
Now I know that people can have an independant blog, but I was unaware that there is a way to add a blog to an already established site?
Any Comments, please advise?

Adding a blog to an existing site is as easy as getting the software for it, installing it and adding a 'Blog' link on the navigation bar of the pages of your web site or merging it with your existing site - depending on how you plan on presenting it to your existing web visitors.

Ok thanks, that sounds simple enough!
Very simple actually, I thought it would be way more complicated than that.
I guess complications would arise when it came time to making sure that the blog design and template were as similar to the already existing site's design template.
Or you could change the site design template to match the new blog design template.
If you really don't care and prefer keeping the two templates different, I guess you can do that too, up to the individual webmaster what they decide to do with their new blog on their already existing site

Yes it would.
Of all the millions of blogs out there it's fair to say that most have been abandoned and lie dormant. Less than 10% of bloggers stick with it for a year or more, but it's then when you get the most benefit because you have a good amount of original content and people begin to recognise you.
Yes, it's still definitely worth it. A blog is great for keeping readers coming back, getting ranked higher in the search engines and also for improving your reputation as an expert.
It's also good for accumulating content that you can repackage as a book down the track.
Just keep writing good relevant and unique content. You'll see it's worth doing in the long run.
great question.
i would highly recommend wordpress as it is easy to maintain and there is a huge community built around it.
if you create a good blog and post unique content to it you will succeed.
you need to be patient and don't burn yourself out in thew first month
