Thread: Wireless keyboards - what's the point?

Hi

What is the point of a wireless keyboard for you PC when it is not going to move. I use a wired and don't see the point of going for a wireless keyboard

What about you?

If you have a huge monitor and want to sit on the couch instead of at the computer? (that's my plan for the future...lol)

Have had wireless keyboard and mouse for a few years.
Love it!
Two less cables for one thing.

Of course, the battery cost is another story!

you should get those rechargeable batteries...save ya a lot

Yes, in a small way.
One, the batteries and charger are costly.
Then the electricity to charge them.

Just seems easier and cheaper to buy the batteries in bulk.

it's a lot cheaper in the medium run ...that's the only kind i use..., and they aren't super expensive...only about 2-3 the cost of one pack of normal batteries

(and electricity to charge them...i'd say the electricity to charge a couple dozen batteries a month would be less than a buck on an electricity bill...so that's not a good reason at all )

Ever heard of green manufacturing and how some so called green products cost more to produce than other alternatives?

Got to also look at the start of the entire process of a product to see how it affects the environment and the true cost.

(if you seriously believe I followed all the above, have a beer now)

hah! that's the best reason so far ...i usually just take the roller ball out of my mouse and throw it somewhere hard to get to so it takes me long enough to cool down while i search for it...lol

When I get mad I can be extremely rough on things, so I am glad I use a laptop cause I'd never dare throw it, that's for sure, but a keyboard I could handle, lol.

Searching for missing mouse balls, lol, that would be fun, would hate when it goes under the fridge though.

I completely expected to see my keyboard there... But it wasn't

i used to use a wireless mouse but it kinda sux doing something and the battery's die

Wireless keyboard = less clutter on desk. Have you seen the latest iMac ones? Cooler than the Ice Age.

I know I like to put my legs on the desk or on a stool or change positions and having a keyboard that can move with my mood is a good thing.

It's not so much the time period in which I am living, but the geographical area. We are not very technologically advanced in these parts. Most of my friends consider ME the computer/internet guru.
