Actually I'm about to get a new computer with Vista preinstalled. I want to play around with and keep a working install of Vista so I can get used to it, no doubt someday I'll be forced to use it on a job.

Anywho I'm worried about partitioning the disk. I've heard some reports of WGA locking you out if the hard disc size suddenly shrinks. Anyone have any experience dual booting Vista & Ubuntu?

My computer came with vista, it f***ing sucks, seriusly.
I tried 2 different partitioning softwares, and neither worked for vista.
I eventually took vista off, and now i duel-boot Ubuntu and Xp.

Sata drives err umm not sure if they have them as there is only one drive per cable 'unless the sata2 is any different'

    Ubuntu 7.10 here.

Also testing 8.04 Hardy alphas, the latest alpha 4 looks great with the new features.

If you are running ubuntu, you should join the forums, and the IRC. Just ask them for some help.

    energetic,
I think most major distros have their popular web hangouts... The one I usually end up on when I am searching for answers is linuxquestions.org. It also helps to get a spare computer and just mess around with it.
