    Default Windows XP reinstall problems

Ok, so my computer got this nasty virus (yes I should have updated my virus protector) I finally gave up and decided to do a total clean reinstall of windows but I'm forgetting something. Windows seems to go in fine but I think the next step (I'm going from memory and bad website step by steps,) is updating/installing drivers?? Not really sure, but I have no internet access after the windows install. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong or where a good tutorial is? Even microsoft site seemed like a not so detailed step by step.

    I Need my computer back!!!!!!!!!

Kim, if your computer is anything like my new computer you need drivers for your Ethernet card. I had the same issue when I installed XP, no internet access. Luckily I thought about this before and downloaded all the drivers before I formatted.

Search your manufacturer's site or talk to a tech who will link you to the correct download. Download the file, then burn it to CD, or even throw it on your iPod and copy it over that way. If you'd like post the name and model number and I'll find you a link.

Big Dan has it, you need the driver for your net access device 'modem, ethernet, etc' so that you can connect.

Most systems should come with the drivers either seperately on CD or via one CD containing all of them.
