Thread: New Laptop!!

Some of you may have noticed I've kinda been on the milk carton lately. That's because I cannot sit for too long at my desk due to having to keep my leg elevated as much as possible for the foreseeable future. I've been neglecting my web work a while and customers are starting to get pissed. Long story short I invested in my own laptop! This puppy is off the the hook. Dual Core, 3 GB RAM, Bluetooth, built in webcam and microphones, card reader, DVD burner, etc.

Acer 15.4" Aspire 5920-6864 Laptop PC w/ Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 Processor - Wal-Mart

I actually was looking for something pretty basic, just with 2 GB of RAM and a dual core processor all the other stuff is extras. When I price shopped this was the best deal I could find anywhere. I chased this model down from 4 local wal-mart's no one had it except for one 45 minutes away.

This puppy actually feels faster than my new desktop :eek:

Now, I'm off to do some much delayed work for paying customers. :P

Damn! when you buying me a new puter?

I wish, I'm almost broke with this latest purchase if I wasn't I'd be buying a PS3!

Have you had Acer before Big Dan? They're a good value machine but have one main weakness - the battery life. I'd be surprised if you got more than a year out of the battery.

Nope no acer before, never even had my own laptop before, I've borrowed my sister's compaq laptop many times.

All in all I'm not too worried about battery life as I'm plugged in most of the time.

thats great so using Direct current to run your laptop but i think laptop in no way can be compared to a desktop in terms of speed as i am having one Hp laptop with 1 gb ram and dual core but what actually matters is the processor it is more heavy in a desktop then in a laptop, my desktop is far to efficient then my laptop.

I have had laptops that are faster than my desktops. CPU is not the only thing that matters when it comes to a computer

Thanks. My only problem is new I'm spoiled by my new desktop's 22" monitor I have a hard time adjusting to the 15" :afro:

I know what you mean. I went to my friend's house yesterday and he uses a 40" tv as his monitor, now I'm thinking 20" ain't big enough
