Thread: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100... with gaming?

I'm not an entirely crazy fanatic of gaming, but I see many laptops have the GMA X3100, which I am considering.

It shares up to 384MB of video memory with the main RAM, so I would expect that's pretty good.

How do you think it would handle running games such as Command and Conquer, Need for Speed, very minimal games?

Like I said I'm not a big gamer but sometimes it's fun to play for a while after work right

And how does it hold up to multimedia? Is it better in any ways to the older GMA 950?

I've got the Acer Aspire 5920 with x3100 intel chipset and if you're a casual gamer like i am you'll be pleasantly surprised at how this IGP really handles the older games! I've played Call of Duty and Command and Conquer Generals and am having a blast! No lag, great graphics, great sound! I never had a GMA 950 but i know someone who has and i'd definitely say that this beats that card by a mile! I think that if you game casually, then there's no better choice than this, given it's reasonable price!
