    Default HDD Failure

Well one of my hard drives just failed...

Tonight will probably be sent salvaging what I can from the train wreck. Fortunatly I didn't keep anything of importance on it, so it isn't the end of the world.

Get Tim to help you with replacing the hard drive.
He's somewhat of an expert by now. :P

Isn't Tim the one who can't have a server HDD for more than a couple of months without it failing?

Anyhow, it's not too much of a problem, just an inconvenience. The hard drive was a 300GB external, but to be honest I still have plenty of room left elsewhere.

GetDataBack worked great and I managed to recover everything. I did however run out of space so I had to be a little selective in what I 'saved'. I will try and recover it again once I buy a replacement hard drive.

    Got a link to it?

I'm always looking for a decent recovery utility.

I must admit I was a bit naughty and didn't buy it. I got a portable edition off of a friend.

Nah it was a 'portable' version which may have actually been free come to think of it. Because it was only a secondary drive I was able to recover through windows. Took about five hours to recover 300GB worth of data.
