I already heard about this news. It was released on previous Tuesday. Firefox 3.0.2 delivers five security and several stability patches and fixes minor problems with layout, themes and customized toolbars. This also includes improvements for the password manager, fixes Mac-specific issues with keyboard shortcuts as well as certain languages, and adds new Extended Validation (EV) certificate roots. It also resolves a problem causing unexpected crashes that led to memory corruption and privilege escalation via XPCnativeWrapper pollution. Minor fixes solve traversal vulnerabilities and BOM characters stripped from JavaScript before execution. Firefox 3.0.2 adds new Extended Validation (EV) certificate roots that boost security and fixes a bug with password manager failing to fill in user name and passwords on certain IDN sites.

One thing I don't like about the new FF3 is it doesn't support the Tab Mix Plus extension anymore which allowed me to have multiple rows of tabs.

Has anyone found an alternative solution to support multiple rows of tabs in FF3?

I have never noticed that before, I guess I don't have that many tabs open at once to see.

I hate Firefox after I had upgraded to version 3 onwards. It has been taking longer and longer for the application to load each time as it was checking updates for my add on. I wonder whether I could turn the updating OFF!

Tools>Options>Advanced>Update.... uncheck what you don't want.

I heard this news. This version introduces a multitude of safety and usability features. The location bar drop-down menu now includes URLs from both your browsing history and your bookmarks. A new Add-Ons manager includes a built-in plug-in search engine, saving you the previous trip to the Mozilla Web site. Single-click the star icon on the right of the location bar to bookmark the current page, or double-click on it to simultaneously add and edit the bookmark entry. You can tag bookmarks, too. Other impressive new features include password confirmation before adding it to the saved passwords list, the ability to pause and resume downloads, and merged forward and backward history lists.

if you want lean and mean (but not a lot of bells and whistles) Opera hands down.
