Does anyone use Yahoo! Messenger?

I have it installed but I don't talk much on it.

I like it best that it alerts me when I get a new email so I don't just stumble upon it... my favorite feature.

Do you use it?

I use MSN messenger as I prefer it to Yahoo! messenger. Plus I can still talk to people on Yahoo! which is good too.

Yes, I also prefer MSN over Yahoo!.

Yahoo is the only messenger I sign on to regularly everything else I use Pidgin for. I have MSN messenger installed too but only launch it if I need to something that I cannot do with Pidgin.

Yahoo messeger is the most insecure buggy IM Messenger ever, It gets booted by evil booters, they can send 10000 of bombs and there's no control over it. MSN is far secure and better than Yahoo. Yahoo chat is one of the world's most disgusting place. THere's no control of speech, people abuse others with slang words and words which one would never like to hear. And it's full of bots advertising nasty things, flooding the room. Yahoo Chat can be compared as Hell. I dont use Yahoo, I hate Yahoo.

The thing that I hate about Y! Messenger is that you can't display your display name and some other things.

I use yahoo all the time Msn I dont use, cause I still have my one from skool so cant add anyone else onto it, so dont use him. Add me if you want, cause I got a new one and only have Compu and Esidyo on it

My Yahoo messenger is on most of the time that I am online. I love that I can talk to my yahoo and my MSN contacts on it.

What do you mean?

Like on MSN you have a "Display Name"

On Yahoo! it is just your name, you can't change the display name....

I haven't used the Yahoo client in years, I use trillian to connect yahoo,msn and aim in one

I used to never use Y! Messenger, I still don't really 'use' it, I am just logged in and use it to notify me when I have a new email etc.

Last I knew Trillian didn't have a webcam function. Do they have that now?

Don't put in your real name when you set up your yahoo id.

BTW, I do that for anti-stalking purposes. Not for the intention of scamming people.

I'm sure it works the same way. Where ever it asks for your name, instead of putting in your real name put in Hurley as the first name, and 4540 as the last name. It only shows the information that you put into it.

I prefer Yahoo! Messenger and could never get the hang of Live Messenger. For me all my friends use Y! so that's a more convienient option for me.

I don't really like Trivium for some reason...just like MSN , Aim, and Y!

MSN is so slow . I cannot even send files that are over 1 M through it. But with Yahoo MSN, it was a different story. And do you know that there are more emoticons available under Yahoo MSN?

I NEVER send files over MSN, soooo slow.

One time a content buyer wanted me to send him a few hundred mb file over msn...I'm like HA, no thanks. I'll upload it.

I do files, and pics on Yahoo all the time. I love the photo sharing feature where you can just drag & drop pics and the other person can see them instantly without having to download them. :3076:

Most of my friends are using Yahoo so I'm using Yahoo as well but my boyfriend is using MSN so i have an account on MSN as well.

I'm using Yahoo Messenger because of the voice chat and conference features.

Yahoo and MSN aren't connected, are you talking about Yahoo Instant Messenger?

IMHO, Gtalk (Google Talk) is way behind YM (Yahoo Messenger) and MSN instant messaging softwares..

Regarding MSN Messenger, I'm not quite sure which is being referred to by previous posts.. the old MSN Messenger or the newer Windows Live Messenger..

The old MSN Messenger is not that great compared with YM .. but the newer Windows Live Messenger is certainly better than the old MSN Messenger.. I love the "Nudge" feature, comparable with YM's "Buzz" ..

I would still choose Yahoo Messenger over Windows Live Messenger.. for the emoticons..

I do too sometimes but because it's not wireless, it's a hassle rerouting my cords. lol...

And BF's and cords don't seem to do well in bed together now that I think about it. :3072:

I like the Yahoo messenger. It is very easy to use, full of emotions, a wide range of options, and very popular. It also alert you to new e-mail in your Yahoo Mail or Yahoo Personals accounts, or when you have upcoming events recorded in your Yahoo Calendar.
