Thread: My PC is not booting - Please help

I was working on my PC in the morning and when I completed my work I pressed Start > Turn Off Computer > Turn Off, the window was just saying Windows is Shutting Down but even after 15-20 seconds it was not getting shut down so I manually pressed the Power button on CPU and turned it off.

Now when I am turning the PC On, it is not getting started

CPU is ON but no display on Monitor.

Can anyone please tell me what went wrong? and how can I fix it?

Had to have my system restored to factory settings recently (which was a pain in the backside) due to a similar problem it froze while shutting down so had to use the power off button then would not start up or it would start but freeze again before the welcome screen.

I tried allsorts and had the manufacturers technical support on the phone doing diagnostics and all the safe mode stuff all to no avail so only way to get round it was to extract contents of the hard drive salvage what i could and then reset the system.

Hope you find a simpler solution.

Well today in Sunday here, 9 PM and I can't call to the shop I bought this computer from

Can you get into SAFE MODE?

If you can, try changing the video resolution settings to a lower setting.
You can also try system restore to go back to an earlier time.

A standard problem might be that you have a usb connected causing it problems - like a external HD using the front usb ports, when starting it won't load until it's removed.

Does nothing show completely?

No I had no USB connected when I turned off the system.

And yes, nothing is showing on the monitor but CPU is ON. I guess CPU is also not booting because after 1-2 seconds the sound of CPU changes, It looks like only the fan is running but its not booting the windows.

Ok, my PC is back in action now

It was a monitor cable problem, I had to took the CPU to the technicians and it was working fine there, they said I should check my monitor cable.

It is working OK now yayyy
