Thread: create pdf files

Does anyone know how to create .pdf files? I have search google for a program that could do that for me, but I can't find a good one.

There is a stack of pdf creating and editing software out there i use jawspdf dont know whether it is the best or not but it does the job.

I use InDesign for making really nice PDFs.

But if I just want to 'PDF' some decent looking text, I use OpenOffice (free/opensource)

Yep, open office should be all you need.

Cute PDF will create PDF documents and not just from Office documents.
It works with any application that prints. If you can print it, you can PDF it.

If you use OpenOffice.Org - it has a built in feature were you can save a word processed document as a PDF.

If you have Adobe acrobat 9 or somethin (costs like $200), you can save files from Microsoft word as pdfs
BUT
If you want to go and design pdfs, Adobe Indesign is what you need.

You're right. There is a good function in open office. Not only is open office good for that, it's a great alternative to Windows.

What I would usually do to create pdf's is:

1) Create a document via microsoft word

2) Convert the microsoft word file into a pdf file via adobe 8.0
