Thread: What is a really good DVD/video converter?

I downloaded "Total Video Converter" and I can't get it to convert the video files from my DVD into a common format such as WMV, MPEG, or AVI, or into sound such as MP3 or WMA, which it says it can do.

I'm not sure what the problem is. Thte files are in a form called ".IFO" which I could only get to play on InterVideo WinDVD, and nothing else.

I'm trying to convert it so I can upload (part) of it on to YouTube, but nothing is working. So, any advice is greatly appreciated.

I've used SUPER, which is free and supports lots of formats and options.
I don't know if it is what you are looking for but anyway it may works for you too

2. very fast conversion which saved me lots of time - 50x
3. had a good balance between file size and output video quality
4. Support 64 bit OS

+ 1 for SUPER .. It worked really well for making up some training videos on how to use our company's internet fax service.

CamStudio was great at recording but we had to edit the video (there were some faxes/phone#s that couldn't be posted online) and convert it for Vimeo and that's when we tried SUPER and it worked really well.

Apparently Camtasia has a 30 day trial of the pro software that would also let you do a quick conversion but then in 30 days you gotta uninstall all that crap. (Buying isn't much of an option, it's a very expensive $$$ bit of software)

avs video converter is quite well

I usually download movies in mkv files then I always need to convert them in mp4 for my cell so for that I always total video converter and one more is ultra 3GP which have all the options.

ulead is best for me...

To tell the truth I do not like all of them. One of them are very slow, the others are so hard and not friendly using as well. So I prefer to load video converted files.

Must be you do not install first windows codec pack. after the install the codec pack will be solve your problem.

Try to use DivX Plus Player, this player also contains DivX Converter, which is really best.

Use DIVX converter to RIP videos. Format Factory is a free utility and also great for that job.

I use "any video converter" for video convertion

I am using winavi, also converts dvd to mpeg,wmv,avi and vice versa.

Total video converter is my favorite video converter, using this converter you can convert any format of video into your desirable format.

Real Pro converter does the job for me

I use xulisoft's converter.
