Thread: HP Friggen Sucks!

I have a Compaq Laptop and it was working fine up until a few hours ago. The Wireless Internet quit working. I even tried adding a Wireless USB adapter and still no luck.

I called HP to get help and since it is a little over a year old it is out of warranty so they wanted $49 for one time to talk to a tech to see if they could help.

This is the second Laptop I had made by HP and both have had problems with modems and networks. The first one I blamed on Walmart because I bought it there and HP made special computers will them and they are junk. However, this newer one was a regular Compaq model.

I have no idea what the hell is going on! The internal wireless card is no even showing up in the system devices.

I hate friggen HP and will never buy another one from them! :sangry:

Try installing the drivers again(from hp site) ..... check in device manager if it is showing up.
Myself using compaq ..... however support wise Dell rocks.

I, on the other hand, like HP and dislike Compaq. How nice huh? lol

Done that first thing before calling HP and there is no device showing up for wireless under Network in devices. I have tried everything normal that I can think of and still no luck. I even called my DSL company and had them connect remotely and they can't figure it out. I can connect direct to the router by Ethernet cable but that defeats the purpose of having a laptop. :sangry:

Most ppl tend to avoid them for pc. There after sales sucks.

I once worked for HP tech support. Actually I quit after going through their 2 week training period.

I heard that they were hiring so I went in to get an application. I asked specifically if it was a sales job and if I would be required to meet quotas and pressure people into buying. I was told "No this is not a sales position and you will not be required to make sales"

I applied and was hired and began the training period. As soon as the training period was over we (the group of newbies I was in) were told that our purpose was to sale products such as ink cartridges and paper to the people who called in. Our primary purpose was NOT to provide tech support but to convince those that called that they needed to upgrade to a better PC or printer as well as to pressure them into buying supplies. We were also informed that if we did not meet the quota for sales our pay would be cut and if we continued not to meet the quota we would be laid off. That was when I said "Take this job and shove, I aint workin' here no more..."

Ever since then I havent liked HP very much.

Well ... i bought a very cheap ( in my opinion ) HP Laptop ( C700) for my cousin and i gave my word that i will deal with the OS installation. The only problem i had with it - i wasn't able to make all the XP drivers to work and i read many threads saying this laptop had some sort of a conflict with XP drivers so i had to stick with Vista Ultimate. I have to say that even though i was pissed off in the beginning Vista turned out to be very easy to work with.All in all i don't think HP is THAT BAD , the kid plays on it all day and he also started using adobe designing software wich needs a pretty good system ; he never had a problem with it and for 600$ i must say i am surprised

@KentuckySlone : i don't think you should judge HP products by the job experience you had. Most employers try to use these kind of scams ... i worked in a call center ( Nobel Ltd.) and believe me... when i think about it now , even i can't believe what i went through working there. It might be true that some HP products are not so bright but the notebooks are pretty good.

I have had 2 HP, my mom has one, my brother has had 2, so far, we have not had any problems. My 4 year old laptop is working fine. The 2 year old laptop is also working well. HP is ok. But we havent had any problems and havent had to call up their call center.
Where did you (almost) work KentuckySlone? In KY?

Sometimes bad thing just happen. Should you judje the whole company for one laptop out of order? Maybe just bad luck or you did smth wrong.

i hate HP too.. it doesnt work always in need

Wow. That was a hell of an experience to both of you allout and kentucky. I personally have no experience about HP. Thanks for the warning guys!
