Just wondering how many people are doing this...?
Yes

Just wondering how many people are doing this...?
Definitely! I'm still using my old Intel E2180 Core2Duo, which is 2GHz but safely OC'ed to 3GHz.
No, i overclocked my old computer and got a new cooling cpu fan it worked great for a while then it just became unstable and rebooted when ever i played games so i reset the overclock and it worked fine but slower, i dont think overclocking is a great idea because you loose stability otherwise cpu manufacturer would overclock them before selling them.
Incorrect, not all chips are capable of ocng as well as others, some are hit and miss while other offerings almost always oc well. With proper cooling you can oc the hell out of your cpu, and vidcard as well, you can also mess around with other ocng tweaks.
I used to OC all my computers, now however running mostly notebooks I leave them as is.

if I've got the cooling then, o yes. I always overclock, more of the time to a solid state which operates the coolest with the best results. (example, bought a 2.6ghz AMD, now running 2.9 comfortably, now if I had liquid cooling I would be pushing 3.2,3.3).
Helped a friend, setup his computer for Christmas, he bought a 3.4ghz AMD, got it clocked to 4.1, but he's got 7 fans, and liquid cooling on two components (cpu & chipsets).
It's all fun and play, but not too funny after you fry a $1000 motherboard,
and set there silent for a couple hrs. lol![]()

So how do you overclock your CPU? Doesn't it depend on motherboard?
I have an old 2.23 Ghz 533Mhz bus Pentium 4 cpu that I would like to overclock and also another computer with 3.4 Ghz HT cpu.
I also have Core 2 Duo 2.33 Mhz dell computer.
So how can I overclock them?
