Thread: Best Configuration for Multimedia requirement?

I am looking to buy a new desktop computer, and I am confused on choosing which to buy.

I need it for my designing and animation work, and I sorted out 2 choices, which are following,

(1) Intel core 2 duo 2.93,
(2) Intel core 2 quad 2.33

or if you have better suggestion, I would really appreciate that.

You can buy any one based on your budget. It budget is not a problem going for 2nd one. And with its bus speed buy maximum Bus capacity RAM like 1333 bus. If you can use maximum bus of your processor, ram and match them with your motherboard you will get the best performance from them.
Another thing buy ram at least 2 GB but 4 GB recommended.

Also for animation and design work it is very important to use decent graphics card (it might give your workstation better performance than fastest CPU) - if budget is not an issue, I would recommend one from NVIDIA Quadro FX: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/page/quadrofx_family.html
