LCD or Plasma TV

I am planning to buy a brand new tv set next week, just need help in deciding, which have a great picture quality a LCD TV or a Plasma TV? And what's the advantage of each to one another? Should I purchase a samsung LCD TV or samsung plasma TV? or a Panasonic LCD TV or Panasonic plasma TV? which brand is better?

LCD in my opinion. A plasma can be an expensive repair.

Why buy a TV? You all ready have a computer. I watch all my stuff on the computer, Movies, shows, everything.

I do not own a TV.

LCD TV's are passe, plasma are the buzz now

LCD since you don't have to spend a fortune having it. Technology changes every 6 months anyways and in no time, the brand new TV will be obsolete

LCD is cheaper, but plasma is future. Have SONY plasma - very satisfied.

This is a more practical way but if you insist on buying, well I would say that LCD has nice price than a plasma tv. Both are great brand names so far.

Not really accurate.... It's LCD's that will be out soon, replaced by LED. Plasma will have a market for a long time still.

Personally I look past the higher cost, consumption, and shorter lifespan and still vote Plasma based on contrast, colour, and smoothness. One day I'll be swayed to LED though...
