Default My Video card went down.

    Hi,

Been off line for a few days The other day my video card took a dive. Well I didn't know what happened till I was told it was the card.

I could hear sound but no picture.

I brought it to the guy that fixes all my computers mess ups I have had a few.

    Guess what I did?

Something really stupid... Did I get the video card fixed? NO

He got this used computer in on trade made me a super good deal on it so I spent all my savings a bought a new/used computer.

But the good thing is I can really see the screen or both screens that is.

Well hear is what I ended up with.

Duel Monitor 2, 24inch HDMI Hanns.G Wow is this like new world 48 inches combined along with a video card from NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB.

    The computer has a

    6.2 Windows Experience Rating

    Duo CPU E6550 @ 2.33GHz

    8.00 GB Ram

    64bit OS

    Running Win7 Ultimate

Please don't think I am bragging... I got a super deal and now I am really, really broke.

    My question is this.

Why or what in the world would you want to upgrade to, if you already had this? What could you possibly need more computer for???

    Hi,

Maybe you could do that, but I would have NO idea where to start. Plus it's a little late now. Part or the deal was I traded in my old computer.

Well i think its too much RAM for a 2.33Ghz CPU based on experience RAM and CPU should be balanced.. Too much RAM could be a little harsh for the CPU, well you could buy a new Video card installing it is easy..

How much ram are you saying a dual core should have?

What would I buy a card for? I don't have that computer anymore.

I don't believe there is such a thing as 'too much ram' if the OS can utilize the ram, there simply is no such thing.
More ran is often one of the best things you can do for your system when it comes to performance.

More ram will allow information to be loaded off of memory itself, and not off of your hard drive, etc. It will help large programs load faster and run smoother.
Many things more ram help, a couple gigs is not enough for most any user on any modern OS these days.

There's no such thing as too much RAM for the 'CPU'. There are many people with Core 2 Duo rigs who use 8 GB of RAM. If the motherboard supports 8 GB (which Sami's clearly does) then there shouldn't be a problem.

    Hi,

Thanks for correcting the info on the Ram. I trust this local guy, I did not think he would sell me something if it was not right. He knows I want to do more video work. So far everything is running great.

If I were you I would simply buy the better one video card instead of the old one because the quality of graphics is very important for me.
