Thread: what is better, linking to software downloads or having the software on your site?

I want to have a a list of free available software downloads on my site, these software programs are not owned or writted by me, but can be very useful to my site visitors.

So I was thinking about compiling a list of these software programs and just have a link to their respective 301 Moved Permanently download page. below each listing on my site.

Much easier than having the hassle of having to upload the .exe files onto my server.
