Thread: Which OS is good now a days?

For me Windows'98 is a best OS systems what about you all?

XP was great, but I then got a laptop with Vista. For some reason I really liked Vista despite the hate, and upgrading to Windows 7 sealed the deal for me. My favourite OS by far!

i used Vista for 2 years, you'll be surprised but no complains! now i use W7 can say that interface is great, its as beautiful as Vista but i have no problems with drivers, my RAM works sterlinger, so advice you W7)

I use XP. In general, I don't like changing habits so maybe W7 is good but I haven't check it yet.

win 7 is far better

I would still go with xp. It's still better but windows 7 is quickly catching up.

I am still using xp. But know i am going to try windows 7 soon.

XP - Too many viruses and security exploits
Vista - Slow and very demanding
Windows 7 - Probably the best OS Microsoft has developed. Work well but being kind of weak in spots.


Mac OSX is my personal preference and it works very well with my host when I need to access FTP or even the file manager. No compatibility issues.

I will go with Windows XP.. The best OS i ever worked with

I'm quite satisfied with the way Windows 7 works.

3. Windows 7

Also, graphically, Mac OS X is so much better than Windows in terms of Photoshop work. The hardware on the Mac is also an attributing factor. I have no issues designing on a brilliant screen at all.

And I've noticed I get things done so much quicker as well. I finish designing/coding 30 minutes to an hour earlier with a Mac and uploading the content to my trusty host is a breeze from what I can tell.

Windows just slows down over time due to exploits.

For computer gaming its windows XP....and for multimedia, graphics and appearance its windows 7

XP Is The Best

At present window 7 is best , and i am using it for me it is good ..

Right now Windows 7 is the way to go, I think a lot of companies will change from XP to 7 now.

I have used all windows operating systems and I found Ubuntu far better than any other system. It is not only superior to all windows crap but also better than all linux operating systems. I have been using it for over a year now.

I'm still using windows XP and I'm comfortable with the service.

Windows is the home of millions and trillions of viruses. Viruses just love it so much. Do you know there are better operating systems available and like Ubuntu which have all the features of windows but are FREE

I have used both windows an ubuntu and I can honestly say that with Ubuntu my PC runs faster.

I also agree with you, for gaming I go for windows xp because it is supports by all gaming platform and windows 7 is far more better than vista when in comes to multimedia, graphics and appearances but not all computer software and hardware are supporting windows 7.

I used to use XP until Windows 7 came out, vista was a waste of time to be honest.

I have used Ubuntu and Fedora as well, which are both good.

Windows 7 Professional is amazing. It has the best features of XP without the bugs and security issues. One of my favorite features is the Problem Steps Recorder (PSR).

In the event of a system problem PSR records every key stroke and every mouse click you make. It also takes screen shots of the desktop with each action. This information is then saved in a zip file and can be viewed by the tech doing the troubleshooting and repair.

If you have Win7 Professional, Ultimate, or Enterprise you can access this utility by typing PSR at the Start menu search field. Check it out..it is so cool.

Just tested the PSR feature, pretty niffty

Windows 98? Where are you bro? its not 1998...its 2011....and I think the best OS for a home user is Windows 7.

I am using XP windows since 2006 and i am very happy with its feature and services

For Windows, Windows 7.

For GNU/Linux based distros, I'd recommend Ubuntu to anyone.

I've also enjoyed Ubuntu linux too.

window 7 is the best for now

I think Windows 7 is best operating system at this time, i feel flexible using this.

I use Window 7 Professional 64bit on my desktop and love it. Until I got 7 I used XP, I have tried vista, but was never a fan.

I still use XP on my netbook as it's lightweight.

Windows 7 is good, I have also used Ubuntu & RedHat Linux, i think its complicated, not fore every day user who just browse internet and listed to some music.
