Hello CreativeIdealist,
Your friend asked you for the tutorial where she can learn about the control panel, it means that she is on the way t host her website, is that true ? If yes, than I will suggest you to please update her to make research for the hosting provider who have cPanel as an control panel at there hosting. Also check if the support team with the provider is good with the technical and control panel features.
Learning through tutorials is good but unless you do it practically you will not exactly know each and every feature provided by cPanel
Please let me know in case you have any more questions in this regards, I will be glad to assist you.
Thank you.

She could be used to another panel and moving on to cpanel. cpanel was my fourth and it took a bit of figuring out after being used to others.

Thanks, we'll start with discovering. I was just getting pissed because people were sending her offers and these hypey sales letters
It's party time!
Probably the same "hypey sales letters" they spam to everyone![]()

Did not know there were tutorials on how to use cpanel.
Been using cpanel so long, don't know when I had used anything else.
Very simple to use.
Check my site, I have CPanel and WHM tutorials.

Took a crash course...and by that, I found myself adminestering a website a few years ago with no prior experience.
You do not need to even learn Cpanel, all the commands come with instructions, basically fool proof
I support http://www.webtalkforums.com
Nothing is fool proof or idiot proof. But yes Cpanel is pretty straight forward.
If you're looking for books, I've got a Cpanel book on my website under Webmaster Resources

There is a heck of a lot to CPanel and its not worth learning per se, there are rafts of functionality that you would be unlikely ever to touch, just go step at a time with the core functions you need to set up , Mail, Database, access etc
I never thought cpanel was very hard. I guess just sttart trying stuff and if you have questions use google.
I have lived on the technical side of life for the past 20 years and I was able to learn cPanel I did have to do the trail and error thing. However I am from the technical arena.
I can really see how some people would want and need a little help through it if they were not up to speed on technical stuff.
I was able to locate some training that helped even me. It was taught on videos and from an Internet Marketer's perspective. I was able to watch and listen as things were explained.
I learned a great amount of information from them and I also was able to share them with my wife and boy that right there was the ticket.
Now keep in mind I learned a good amount of useful information from them and I am fairly technically proficient. So I can really see how some people would benefit from these. My wife did! a that frees up a large amount of time for me.
Anyway I do look to participate more here looks like a KEWL crew!
Until next time!

I had to learn Cpanel, when I first assigned with my host, that gave me a lot of pain in the a.., but to the support stuff as well. I used video tuts as well, lurked around forums a lot and now feel much safer.
I was a bit afraid about cpanel at first myself, after using one of them hosts with their very own customized panel, but it was much easier than I expected, it was WHM, that took me a while longer to learn. Now I use WHM/cPanel almost daily with no problems.

playing with it and breaking all kinds of stuff lol
Ya, we do learn a lot by trail and error. Most technical issues are resolved that way.
Let's just hope it isn't on the big items that we are doing the what ifs.
Some of the people that I know are not technical at all and don't even know where to begin.
That's why there are training solutions so that they can start somewhere andbreak a few things.
I know that some of the things I buy training for is to stream line the process and be more efficient at it.
This is a prettyplace.

The school of hard knocks, and making scripts up. Cpanel is great, but sometimes they will throw you junk that you may not want (Maildir - Courier-IMAP) . Playing with it is the best way to learn.

Lol its not hard at all
Best way to learn cpanel, imo, is to install it on a server and start messing with it. Basically any problem you run into has been addressed before at the cpanel forums so you can always find a solution to it. Best way to learn it is to jump right in
I still say that getting good training can build the confidence and skills that most need.
I have been in the technical side of life for some time and I still seek good training to get me up to speed on topics that I want to learn.
Sure I can figure it out however I often want to get going and using what ever it is that I am learning.
Anyway yes you need to start using and experiencing the product as soon as possible and there are plenty of good sites to learn from.
But always keep in mind that even the experts and technically proficient seek out good training and almost always learn new skills from a good training course.

I learned cpanel with my 2nd host account my first host account I was so new to everythin I had no idea what I was doing I just canceled the whole site.. then with my second host I just started to play with it. Its not hard but at the same time it's no easy![]()

I wish i had started of with cPanel instead of directAdmin. I'm so used to directAdmin that I get all confused with cPanel - well the WHM part of it anyway
Just learnt myself dude. Self-effort is the best teacher !!

I keep on getting banned from my cpanel by my webman cause I stuff things up, but you have to keep trying different things, just in case it does work.
cPanel has a straight forward interface. I learned from just using it. You can click the "Help" button from any screen to see info about that screen. The button is usually located at the upper right corner. For example click the E-Mail settings button, then click the "Help" button from there to see helpful info about managing your e-mail accounts.
You just got to login and run with it play about click things wach the demos that come up
mmm never learned cpanel as such.. it was just doing it as it was sort of self explanatory for me.. trial and error sometimes![]()
