Default For dedicated servers - Apache vs LiteSpeed and LiteSpeed Lease vs Owned

I've written two recent blog posts detailing the differences between Apache2 and LiteSpeed and then an analysis of the LiteSpeed Leased vs Owned licensing structures.

By all means check them out if they interest you and let me know what you think (here, or on the blog, whichever you prefer).

    Thanks!

MikeDVB.com » LiteSpeed Licensing – 39 Months To Make Owned Worth It???

Edit: There is no commercial objective of my blog - it's just my own personal rantings. If a mod would rather me just post the contents of my two posts here I will do so but I just linked to them to save myself some trouble.

I know I absolutely loved litespeed for sure when we first were using it. It was so much faster and had no problems in which we did with the server we had back then with apache where we had to keep restarting the damn thing. But we now have had to go back onto apache because we have a decent amount of clients that use FFMPEG which doesn't work on litespeed (not sure if they have added that feature yet). Minus that issue, I love litespeed

Actually, I'm running FFMPEG on our Semi-Dedicated servers with LiteSpeed...

    Both stand-alone /usr/bin/ffmpeg as well as FFMPEG-PHP.

If you need help getting ffmpeg-php installed on a litespeed powered server let me know.

MikeDVB added 439 Minutes and 45 Seconds later...

You can verify that we have FFMPEG installed on the Semi-Dedicated with LiteSpeed at phpinfo() (just search for FFMPEG) and then if you go to 404 Not Found (404 page) you will see that it is indeed LiteSpeed powered!

Let me know if you want me to setup FFMPEG on your server with LiteSpeed - normally I charge $75/hour administration but I'll do it for free for you this one time

We'll probably be moving to another server once more before Colocating in October/November so not just sure as of yet if we'll be using litespeed again (hopefully).

It is really nice of you to offer that free . thank you but not until I know what our partner & my husband are gonna do now...I'm always last to know nowadays :P

    Oh your 404 page says:

    T404 Not Found

The server can not find the requested page:

    /askdflnasdf (port 80)

Please forward this error screen to cypress.mddhosting.com's WebMaster.
Nothing says litespeed if in fact I'm correct about what you wanted me to see if if I go to it, it should say something along the lines of saying litespeed rather than apache:

    Not Found

The requested URL /jkhjkhdsf was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    Apache/2.2.11 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.11 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_bwlimited/1.4 mod_jk/1.2.25 PHP/5.2.10 Server at Domain name registration, web hosting and VPS hosting | Domain.com Port ##
