which is the best vps hosting provider

What kind of virtualization technology do you mean. VPS is not like shared hosting. Virtual servers based on OS virtualization (OpenVZ, Virtuozzo Containers) are very different from those that come from Full virtualization (VMware, KVM, etc). So there is NO best VPS host.

Every VPS hosting provider has its own service quality. So how can we determine their VPS quality?

If you could specify the virtualization software and the OS then it would become easy for us to suggest you the right vps hosting provider.

I could be wrong but the OP may simply want the best price/support/uptime.
I know I could care less on what software it was running, besides maybe the control panel.
Support/uptime are far more important to me

The truth is that the site owners care more about uptime, control panel and the quality of support instead of th virtualization technologies used by hosting providers (although I have already brought this topic up)

I have tried Servint.net and Knownhost.com both.

Servint.net is crap... their servers are fast but their support is crap.

Knownhost.com is great. Servers and support both are very fast and intelligent.

I think I use the best VPS host in the business. I only have tolerance for services and technology that works and so far my Web Hosting from myhosting.com is by far the most reliable, least costing, and best tech supporting host I have ever used.

Anyways most vps providers are rated on there support as a lot use standerd software. Which would you want? Cheap or fair priced and reliable and dedicated support?

I'm sure this has already been said, but it is the truth. There is no "best" provider. Every provider who has had more then a handful of customers is bound to have a bad review some where. Dig through the good, the bad, and the ugly. Look at the big picture. Go with a provider with a money back guarantee. If it doesn't work, move on.

From my own experience the most important thing in VPS - fast support when something goes wrong.

Only buy from hosts who have their servers located in USA. Because traffic coming from USA converts best so load time they will get is important when they open your site. AFAIK FDCServers is most popular service these days. I haven't tried them but I hear many people are using them because of their reliability and uptime. Price isn't cheap though.

I agree with firefoxie. I would only recommend North American VPS hosts like the one I am currently using. USA or Canadian based hosts are known for quality service and they typically have faster speeds on their servers.

I doubt that the only choice should be in US. It's just another garden variety stereotype.

Linode.com <---- they are currently the market leader in VPS and have the best price to specs ratio and excellent support.

Also want to add that the best VPS hosts are within North America so if you can, choose a US or Canadian based host. One of the reasons why I chose my current VPS package and host is because of location.

You'll get best VPS or Hosting if you have enough budget but don't go for 'Business Gimmick" say "Cheap VPS". If cheap meant provider must pump a lot off account to cover the cost...:happy-f:

I believe that there is no best VPS hosting provider ever, there is only the best one for your personal needs.

As opposed to with web host, each online web host server is completely separate from the other online hosts. So what happens on one online web host server will not impact anything on yours.
