Just to name a few... isprime.com, natnet.com, webair.com... they are good.

in the UK i'm using tagadab. its a small provider but it has extremely fast connection and they provide REAL unlimited bandwith with affordable prices

There is no such thing as unlimited bandwidth. If anything a dedicated/VPS provider can give you unmetered service. This is where they cap the speed instead of tracking the amount of transfer used.

IMO, one should choose a web hosting provider which is near by. Also, there are many web hosting aspects that need to be consider when choosing a dedicated server hosting. Make sure the provider offers you high network connectivity and good server uptime. The security must be enhanced and 3 way support should be provided with the hosting.

I've tried everything from Host Gator to Blue Host for my floral business and they all sucked to say the least.

I am currently with myhosting.com for the past 7 months and I haven't had a hitch. Their customer service is great if you ask me and that is why if I want to move to a dedicated server, I am going with them.

BlueHost/HostMonster do not sell dedicated servers. As far with provider, I would recommend SoftLayer. Their control panel is second to none. It has a lot of automation and tools compared to any other provider. As far as The Planet, I would recommend avoiding them. I've experienced billing issues with them in the past. (Their billing department will try to cheat you)

Another provider I would recommend looking into is ServerBeach. Like SoftLayer they have datacenters in different locations. A little cheaper too.

I'd recommend Softlayer from the list.

I would also suggest considering a VPS before you spend the extra dough on a dedicated server. Many hosts including mine offers great VPS packages. You save money and in many cases, VPS are all you need. They can be just as good as dedicated servers if configured correctly for your needs.

Thanks interesting thread. There seems to be too many options. I personally was leaning towards hostdime for their special they had but too bad it's over now.

Even with their special, they were more expensive than many other hosts with dedicated servers and EVEN more expensive than VPS hosts...

I pay like 1/4 of what they charge with my host and I am VERY happy!

I will recommend planetonline, i thinks its quite good and reliable hosting provider.

Most people don't know which service provider is the best and they have just low price as criteria. They are ranked by best web hosting service ratio.

I am using planet.com and I think it's Okay.

Out of the ones that you listed, I have experience with Softlayer. They are simply the best. Even the Planet is good, they have now bought Softlayer.

well the answer is for this question is, it depends where you get the best support, and it depends on individual which one they prefer, as some individual look to save money by having unmanaged, some look for managed servers, so it all depends what you looking for.

There is no best hosting provider, it all depends from what you expect.
