Default I need some advice about vps requirement

Hi, guys! I need some advice. I am running three websites, one of them have about 10000 visitors a day, each visitor views five pages. The entire website was developed with html. I planning to move my main website to a vps because I'm having trouble with my shared host account. I have no experience with vps. So I decided to find a cheap vps managed provider. I also need to known the hardware requirement for the vps such as RAM memory and CPU requirement. One more thing I've been using Linux for about five years in my personal computer so I already have a little experience with linux. Anyone could give me some advice how can I get started?

My suggestion is go with the cheapest plan first to see if you can save some cash using the low tiered plan. If you can, great - you saved a bunch of money. If not, upgrade to the next plan and repeat if necessary. That is what I did with my current VPS. My host didn't have an issue with me needing to upgrade when necessary so look for a flexible host.

If you are still looking to upgrade to your current shared hosting then you a VPS would be a perfect solution for you. Try to go with managed hosting service provider who also offers you 30day moneyback guarantee.
VPS hosting solutions have guaranteed amount of resources allotted to your server hence you should get optimum performance with scalability option and total freedom.
You can start with low end VPS which can be upgraded later just by paying the difference in cost.

Also consider spreading your content amongst a couple VPS servers to alleviate the stress. This will keep uptime steady and speeds relatively high.

You say that you have 3 websites out of which one of the site gets 10000 visitors a day, that says it all. You'd definitely need either a Cloud Hosting plan or a dedicated server which would have a least of 2GB RAM. A VPS cannot be an option as it wouldn't be able to handle that much load. If you calculate the number of visitors on all the three sites, you should get a particular figure (which would indeed be larger than 10000), based on this you should be able to find an appropriate package.
In my opinion, a server with the below specs is what you'd need:
    RAM : 2Gb
    Processor : Dual Core
    CPU Speed : 2.5 GHz
    Bandwidth : 2500 GB +

If you aren't acquainted with managing the server on your own, you can opt for a fully managed service.

Getting a dedicated server is way overkill. VPS is the smarter and cheaper alternative. Even if you get 2-3 VPS, you will still be paying less than a dedicated server.

    I second on this.
However with 10K visitors, the site must be earning much to pay the bills.

VPS servers are best to deploy secure and reliable hosting features at affordable prices as compared to dedicated servers.

Though the VPS has allocated resources like RAM, Disk space and bandwidth, but they shares the CPU power. This is one of the reasons why people like to opt dedicated hosting solution instead of going for a VPS. Dedicated servers allows you to have complete control over the server resources.

Yes the dedicated server gives all resources and power to the end user but in this case the OP does not need it.

He has enough Linux experience to optimize his VPS to get similar performance already.

    Some rough estimates:

    10,000 uniques / day x 5 pages = 50,000 impressions / day.
=> 2,083 / hour => ~35 / minute with even loading, although this is unlikely to be the case

You will probably find that 75% of the traffic comes through in a 8 hour period.
    37,500/8 = 4,686 / hour => ~79 impressions / minute.

A lot depends on the content you are delivering.
If it is heavy media streaming go with a dedi, but I think you said it was just HTML, so I'd recommend a 1GB VPS and work from there.

Also, make sure the web server you install only has the bare minimum modules required for you situation (i.e. no PHP, MySQL, etc. if you are not using them).
