WHM Email Alerts

My cell phone like most allows for emails to be emailed to my cell phone email address. Wanting to know when my servers are having problems beyond just simple uptime tests I changed my WHM alerts to this email address..

It gets a bit annoying now but it's a huge help, especially if I resold services. It lets me know when scripts that could send spam are uploaded, when a domain is sending a ton of email, when it's under high loads, apache fails, etc, etc.

Very handy to do, might want to check it out if you have WHM or other similiar service.

I have Paypal notifications go to my cell phone, but, lately, it's been a couple of days behind.

I get a lot of spam there, too.

As I rarely answer my cell phone, having emails sent to it would be a waste of time.

In fact, I do not even know if my cell phone will accept emails!

All I wanted, and all I care about, is the send button to call someone, and the receive button to accept a call.
That and my grandson showed me how to get to my message box so I can delete them.

One day, will not only read the manual, but get the grandson to get me up to speed on this cell phone of mine.
Or not!

I don't check mine often, rarely answer it. But when you run your own server you want to know if it's down asap

Just post an url on this forum or DP and bingo!
Instant notification if the site is down.

I have my emails forwarded to another email and it seems to have a two day lag lately to get forwarded, very annoying, not sure why it started happening all of the sudden. It use to be nice but not when it doesn't work correct anymore. I hate checking so many email accounts for spam... I mean client needs.

Somebody knows how I configures the WHM to send notifications for email?

I changed of server and the new is not sending these emails of notification

I believe it's under "Server Contacts" in WHM, gedan.

Think that is annoying.. Try still having a pager and a massive monitoring system monitoring everything from the simple ping, to mySQL db's to DNS... And multiply that by 500... It's nuts.. Not a day goes by that I do not receive a page.

My largest customers have my home phone number as well as cell, etc.. If a page does not wake me up, they can call my home... Nothing like getting a call from France at 3AM and having to roll out of bed to fix a server...

It's all part of the job... It is cool having the monitoring though.. It really does help you sleep better at night knowing that you will always know when something is wrong, often times before your customers!
