    Default Creating Nameservers

I am trying to setup my webserver. I believe I got everything setup except my nameservers.

So far all I did was go to godaddy and make one of my domains into a nameserver. Anything else I have to do server side? or do I just have to wait for everything to replicate

    Default Server Type

It really is going to depend on the type of server you have. If it's a linux or unix type server distro. you're using, I'd reference the docs for the system online (typically docs will include information about DNS hosting for your particular distribution). There's a great post on another forum (I hope I'm OK to link to other forums from here). They have some good info on this issue:

Setup DNS for Webserver - Linux Server Talk

P.S. I'd recommend hosting your DNS at http://www.everydns.net/ rather than doing it yourself. I've used these guys quite a bit and have been very pleased. It'll be more reliable that way.

You will also need to remember and register the name servers with your domain provider and then add the records on your server.

Thats true, you will need to bind the IP addresses with the nameservers you need to setup for your server with the help of your domain registrar.

    Thank you.

What i had to do, was create my nameservers and point them to my servers IP address. I then had to get my webhost to add the nameservers to the global registry and wait a couple of days.
