    Default DMOZ

Who do I have to pay off to get included in DMOZ? I tried to become an editor so that I could approve it myself, but my application was rejected...can you imagine that?!?

It has been a paid to be listed site for as long as I can remember lol

Im sure you can find the person if you really wanted to be listed. But really , don't worry about it to much.

My site has been listed in DMOZ for the past year and half, for free, and I did not have to pay anybody....I simply submitted by site to DMOZ and it was approved into the category that I submitted my site under.

I truly believe that it depends on what your niche is, and the quality of your site content. Also, as I already mentioned, making sure that you actually submit your site into the right category on DMOZ, try to be as specific as possible when choosing which category on DMOZ to submit your site to.

Lots of sites are simply not approved on DMOZ solely because they were submitted into the inappropriate category, for DMOZ you have to submit your site to the category that your site actually qualifies under, not the category that you just simply want it to be in.

    I hope this helps!

    Much Thanks,

Lucky for you. I constantly read about people trying to get into dmoz for years without any luck.

Submission to DMOZ usually takes 6 or more months . be precise when submitting the link. use the best title phrase, keywords and description. Never keyword stuffing and extra SEO. Be patience and don`t submit your URL many times, Once is enough. always choose the best category for your website and only submit the first level domain.

Another problem with dmoz is that many categories do not have editors. So even if your site is acceptable, there is no-one to approve it.
