    Default PR?

I am new to this directory thing and been reading a bunch of the threads and can't figure out something.

What the hell is PR1, PR2, PR3, etc and how is it rated?

I know its shocking that I dont know something...

PR is the goole Page Rank for your pages. Doesn't mean much (highly debated) but it is there rating on how they see your site as good content, links incoming etc.

Yep, as google checks your site, and checks the backlinks, etc
At some point in time, google will assign a pr to your site, and hopefully the inner pages.

Which is weird, as one directory of mine has a pr3, but some of the inner pages are pr4 and pr5.

Inner pages might have a few links pointed to them, plus getting pr from the index.

Google may also see the index page as not very unique or quality, and may see an inner page as a bit more unique assigning a higher pr. I have a few pages such as this.

So called 'experts' will tell you it's backlinks and no other thing will determine PR. I have so many sites that show that following that belief is simply hogwash. However I will not show exactly how I know this, even though I do not get carried away with PR I am not one to list all my secrets. A little help here and there is one thing

    Backlinks do help in pr.
But I do believe that original content really pushes pr!

One site has few backlinks, but since I change the pages often with new content (no, not rss feeds, or anything like that), the pr has climbed up quite a bit.

And the other thing driving pr is traffic!
The more traffic you can send to your site, the better google likes it for pr purposes.

The more relevant the better, and don't be getting links from bad neighborhoods, that will only hinder not help you.
